Savory Seeds
About- Summer Savory is native to the Mediterranean and has been cherished as a culinary herb in the western world since ancient times. Use to add intriguing flavor to dressings and sauces or do as the Romans and use it to flavor vinegar.
When and Where to Plant- Sow seeds indoors and transplant outside after about 7 weeks or direct sow seeds in the garden after the last frost, keeping moist until they sprout. Choose a location with well-draining sandy type soil.
Care and Harvest- Barely cover seeds with light sand or fine soil. Be sure to keep soil moist, especially in the early stages. When harvesting, hang branches upside down in a warm airy place and remove leaves to store in an airtight jar.
