Salt N' Roast Hybrid Sunflower Seeds
About- If you love to snack on sunflower seeds, planting Salt N’ Roast is a must! This variety is used by commercial growers all around the world. Each head will produce hundreds, if not thousands, of large seeds filled with big kernels.
When and Where to Plant- Direct sow in the spring after the threat of frost has passed. Prefers well draining soils and full sun. Allow adequate space between plants to encourage large head growth.
Care and Harvest- Protect heads from birds with netting. Harvest the heads when dry. After seeds have been adequately dried, soak in salt water for a few hours. Pat dry and roast seeds in an oven until the color begins to change. Store in an airtight container and enjoy! Note: Do not store unroasted seeds.
