
Peppermint Seeds
About- The leaves of peppermint offer a refreshing aromatic scent. Use to flavor teas, baked goods and sweets. Plants will also produce beautiful flowers that attract a wide variety of pollinators.
When and Where to Plant- Requires damp or even wet soils to thrive. Plant in irrigated areas, along the edge of ponds or in low lying areas of your garden. Prefers a soil pH between 6.5 and 7, but can handle slightly acidic conditions.
Care and Harvest- Amend soil with aged, screened compost. Moisten soil before seeding. Do not cover seed as sunlight is required for germination. Clip leaves or branches as needed throughout the year. Dry the leaves and flowers for peppermint tea or use fresh leaves to make a steeped tea.
