About- The Imperial Star Artichoke is a gardener's delight. Its striking grey-green foliage grows up to 4 feet tall and is dotted with firm, succulent artichokes perfect for harvesting. The buds are slow to open when mature and will yield high amounts of sweet, mild tasting flower buds. Enjoy the bounty of your garden with the Imperial Star Artichoke.

When and Where to Plant- Zone 6 and cooler, start seeds indoors Mid Februrary, transplanting outside around your last spring frost. Zone 7 and warmer direct seed around your last spring frost. Plant in a sunny location with rich soil. 

Care and Harvest- Keep soil moist and weed free. Fertilize as necessary. Harvest by cutting when central bud is 3" - 5" in diameter. Harvest secondary buds at 1" - 3" diameter.

Artichokes

We were slow getting them into the ground but a fellow gardener (here in Baltimore) already has chokes so we are hopeful. Ours are growing nicely.
