Available Sizes: Custard Yellow Beans (2 Oz Pkt)

About- Custard is a delicious yellow wax bean that produces high yields of 6 inch long, round, slender pods that develop good yellow color early. Custard performed exceptionally well in our trials.

When and Where to Plant- Select a sunny location and plant when all danger of frost is past and the soil has warmed. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and smooth over with a rake. Firm soil over seed and keep soil moist. For a continuous supply of fresh beans, plant every 3 weeks.

Care and Harvest- Grows best in a soil with a pH between 6 and 7, and just a light application of fertilizer. Water at ground level to reduce the probability of disease. Pick beans every 2-3 days, when pods are 4-6 inches long and before seeds develop and the sides bulge. Hold the stem with one hand and pick with the other hand to avoid tearing the plant.

Best Yellow/Wax Bean I've grown in 4 decades

I have tried several dozen different varieties of yellow/wax bean, and this one beats them all. Plentiful pods are 5-6" long, stringless, and meaty, and a single planting will produce 2-3 crops of beans. Just as flavorful as their green counterparts, they brighten any dish they're in. I hope this item never disappears from Rohrer's inventory!
