About- The heirloom Reigart tomato, also known as Penn State Plum, can trace its roots back to the early 1930’s. This variety was developed by Penn State Extension for a truck patch farmer in York County, Pennsylvania. Each plant will produce clusters of up to six red plum-shaped tomatoes, ranging in size from 0.5 – 1.5 oz. The fruit are low acid with a wonderful flavor, making them perfect for snacking.
Planting- Start seed indoors 8-10 weeks before your last frost. Transplant outdoors into well-draining soil, in an area with full sun.
Care & Harvest- Support with stakes or cages. Water frequently at the coolest part of the day. Harvest individual tomatoes as they ripen. Indeterminate.
