Extra Early Harvest

About- Early maturing variety producing abundant yields of smooth, straight, tender, stringless pods. Provider germinates better in cold soil than most other green bean varieties. Hardy, with tolerance to powdery mildew and common bean mosaic.

When and Where to Plant- Select a sunny location and plant when all danger of frost is past and the soil has warmed. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and smooth over with a rake. Firm soil over seed and keep soil moist. For a continuous supply of fresh beans, plant every 3 weeks.

Care and Harvest- Grows best in a soil with a pH between 6 and 7, and just a light application of fertilizer. Water at ground level to reduce the probability of disease. Pick beans every 2-3 days, when pods are 4-6 inches long and before seeds develop and the sides bulge. Hold the stem with one hand and pick with the other hand to avoid tearing the plant.

Extremely productive

Harvested a pack of beans on our second picking of a 15’ row! I would consider it a successful season.

Provider Stringless Bush Beans

Got a 1/2 pound pack for 2023 and they were good thru my 2024 season. Very prolific BUT there were many seeds -maybe 10% - for some other type of beans in the pack. Looked like a half-runner with flat pods. Not what we like. We plant short rows, in succession, and it was enough of problem to reduce the crop.

Excellent

After a late start, because of the weather, we’re starting to enjoy tender flavorful beans.
