Mary Washington Asparagus Seeds (Pkt)
About- Try Mary Washington Asparagus for a delicious, century-old flavor. This variety produces uniform dark green spears with a robust texture and resistance to asparagus rust disease.
When and Where to Plant- Before planting, soak seeds in water for 24 hours. Start seeds indoors 2-3 months before your last spring frost. After danger of frost is past, transplant into compost enriched 8" deep trenches located in full sun. Cover with 2" of soil. As the spears begin to grow fill in the remaining 6" of soil.
Care and Harvest- Keep soil moist and weed free. Asparagus is considered a heavy feeder, requiring fertilize 2 times a year. Do not harvest for 1-2 years. Snap spears when they are approximately 8" tall.
