Honey Select Sweet Corn Seeds
All-America Selection Award winner.
Seed treated with fungicide
About- Voted the best all around sweet corn in the country for its exceptional flavor, high sugar content and its extremely tender kernels. These features made Honey Select the winner of the prestigious All-America Selection Award. Productive stalks produce large 8-9 inch ears with tight, medium-green hunks and good flags. Possibly the best yellow sweet corn we have ever offered.
When and Where to Plant- Select a sunny location and plant when all danger of frost is past and the soil has warmed. For best results, cultivate soil and fertilize with vegetable food. To ensure good pollination, sow seed in blocks of at least 4 rows side by side, rather than a long single row. For an extended harvest, plant every 3 weeks until early summer.
Care and Harvest- Grows best in soil with a pH between 6 and 7. Cultivate weekly or mulch between plants and rows to control weeds. Pick when silks turn brown and ears are firm. Test by piercing a few kernels with thumbnail. The skin should be tender and the juice should have a milky look to it. For the best eating experience, pick, prepare, cook and eat the same day.
