Dwarf Taylor Horticultural Bean Seeds
Also known as Bird Egg Bean
About- (Heirloom) Delicious dry shell type bush bean. Immature pods may also be harvested for snap beans. Thick flat pods measure 5 to 5 1/2 inches long and are a light green in the snap stage and are marked with red streaks at maturity. Mature seeds are oval with pink-buff spots and maroon streaks.
When and Where to Plant- Select a sunny location and plant when all danger of frost is past and the soil has warmed. For best results, loosen soil with spade or fork, fertilize with vegetable food and smooth over with a rake. Firm soil over seed and keep soil moist.
Care and Harvest- Grows best in a soil with a pH between 6 and 7, and just a light application of fertilizer. Water at ground level to reduce the probability of disease. Support bean stalks with stout poles, trellis, string or wire. For green shell stage, pick beans when the seeds have formed and the pod is firm when squeezed. For dried beans, allow the pods to dry on the stalk before picking.
