June, July, & August... What to Plant in the Garden?
Summertime is still a great time to plant certain seeds! Below we list some great options:
- June is already upon us and it’s almost summer but there is still plenty of time to sow a variety of vegetable seeds in the garden.
- Here in the mid-Atlantic region, pumpkins, winter squash, and summer squash can be planted until the 3rd week of the month.
- Sweet corn, lima beans and cucumbers until the 1st week in July, snap beans and heat tolerant leaf lettuces until August 1st and red beets, carrots & swiss chard until the middle of August.
Now is also the time to plant cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and kale seed for a fall harvest!
