3 Ways to Keep Insects Off of Your Plants!

One of the most frustrating things about gardening and maintaing a landscape is the presence of insects. Insects are a crucial part of all ecosystems but can be very destructive to our desirable plants, especially vegetable gardens. Not only do insects eat the plants which can create an unsatisfying appearance for your produce and plants but they also spread fungal diseases which can ultimately kill them if left untreated.

2. Neem Oil/Triple Action Spray

Neem oil is a great tool for gardens and landscapes alike. Neem oil is made from pressing seeds that come from neem trees until oil comes out which is then filtered. It is a great natural option that takes care of insects and fungal problems on every type of plant and it is perfectly safe to use up until the day of harvest.

Triple Action is another variant of neem oil which has pyrethrin added to it so it is stronger against insects but still a natural option that is perfectly safe for your garden and landscape. We sell both varieties as concentrates and ready to use bottles, like pictured above.

3. Bag Traps

The bag trap is most commonly used for the Japanese Beetle, which is one of the most destructive insects there is. These traps can be quite effective catching hundreds of beetles at a time. If you use these make sure to put them far away from your desired plants because the bait will attract many beetles and they may not all decide to go in the bag!
