Watercress Seeds
About- Watercress is a semi-aquatic herb that requires a moist environment to thrive. It has a slightly peppery taste, and is packed with vitamins and minerals. You can grow watercress outdoors in a running stream, or a damp spot in your garden, or indoors in a pot using very damp compost rich soil.
When and Where to Plant- Choose a sunny location outdoors in early spring, and ammend the soil with 4-6" of composted organic matter. Sprinkle seeds evenly over the soil and keep the planting area most but not water logged. Established plants can be grown soil-free in a bucket or a hydroponic garden.
Care and Harvest- Begin harvesting three weeks after germination. Harvesting before the plant blooms will ensure good flavor, after the plant blooms the flavor will decline. Cutting or pruning your watercress will encourage more growth.
