Chive Seeds
About- Chives are a cool season, cold-hardy perennial best planted in early spring for a summer harvest. Chives grow upright up to 20" and the leaves are topped with purplish pink spherical flower clusters. With a fresh, mild onion taste, Chives are a delightful herb to add flavor and decorative appeal to culinary creations. Both the leaves and the flowers are edible!
When and Where to Plant- Direct sow outdoors as soon as the soil can be worked in a full sunny location. Cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil.
Care and Harvest- Water consistently. You can begin harvesting Chive leaves 60 days after seeding. Cut the leaves near the base of the plant and harvest the flowers as they bloom, to ensure they don't reseed all over your garden. Divide your Chive plants every few years to increase productivity.
